Efficiency of Machine Sanding of Wood

We hypothesized that the type of wood, in combination with grit size sandpapers, would affect sanding efficiency. Fixed factors were used experiment (a belt sander pressure p = 3828 Pa, and a speed vs 14.5 m/s) as well variable (three sand belts (P60, P120, P180), six hardwood species (beech, oak, ash, hornbeam, alder, walnut) three softwood (pine, spruce, larch)). The masses test samples measured until they completely sanded. efficiency is less than for species. Maximum ranged from 1 to 2 min, while species, it 4.5 min at start then decreased. average time complete was: 87 s (P60), 150 (P120), 188 (P180). For hardwood, these times 2.4, 1.5, 1.8 longer. results indicate determining are and, secondly, belts. In first phase blunting belts, processes significantly different. second blunting, higher numbers (P120 P180) behaved similarly softwood.
